Ignorant vs Innocent

Chinese New Year is just around the corner! Though 2021 means a whole different kind of vibe for celebration, it still does not stop me doing one of the most important elements during pre-CNY - g otong-royong (big cleanup at home).           I had spent my last week of January literally just doing that. From wiping the walls, dusting the drawers, dumping broken stuff to recycling old clothing, it was hell lot of work.           In the midst of cleaning up, there was no doubt that we would find out some past memories kept in somewhere around. This was where I found out the beauty of innocent childhoods and my past pure ignorant of this ‘cruel’ world .          IGNORANT vs INNOCENT According to Wikipedia, being “ ignorant ” describes a person in the state of being unaware, who deliberately ignore or disregard important information or facts, whereas, b...

What I learn from the Unpleasant Business in Toilet 🚽

I can't believe going to toilet doing my business will lead me creating this post:          Yesterday at 2pm, I got hangry (hungry + angry) since I hadn’t eaten anything since morning. So I ordered my first meal of that day - Mcd nasi lemak ayam goreng spicy . Frankly speaking, it tastes fantastically delicious. I enjoyed and savored every last bit of that nasi lemak. However, here comes to the burning point .            Recently, my body has transformed from a bad bitch to a good girl. My body couldn’t withstand anything more than moderate-level spiciness compared to my glamorous university time where I killed every eating-spicy-food challenge thrown upon me. I even managed to conquer the Ghost Pepper Instant Noodle without drinking in between. But now, haha.          Since COVID-19, it means one thing: m ore time at home = healthier food . Since mummy in the house, t...

What I learnt from the Ceiling Fan in my room

When we are lost or start to feel hopeless and clueless, we will grab everything we see and hold on to it dearly. We will have this tendency to drive deeper into "the zone" to get us more into the "mood". When we are sad, we listen to sad song. When we are depressed, we watch tear-jerking movies. As if our inside world is not dark enough, we are just so attracted to ruin ourselves more. It drives us deeper to our shit and not wanting to find back the way out to the real world.               This notion hit me especially hard when I drove myself crazy with my mumbled thoughts lately. I was having insomnia the other night. I couldn’t sleep and might I tell you that I am a privileged kid that usually do not have problem of sleeping like a pig. So this was like a new-found field that I found myself so difficult to adjust to. I couldn’t sleep because all the bad shit that I could possibly think of started to squeeze up and consum...

"Mess" pot of Laksa

Living in this multiracial and “muliti-flavourful” country, we – Malays, Indians, Chinese, Bumiputeras etc., are literally this big – super huge - pot of mixed Laksa. Yes, you hear it right. A hot delicious ‘messy’ pot of Laksa. Do you know there are 5 basic variants of Laksa, based on Wikipedia and 12 different types of them in Malaysia? This really surprises me when I always just eat one kind in Ipoh. Not the most presentable, but taste like a miracle             Don’t worry. I am definitely not a food connoisseur, so I am not here to talk about my food trip or my vlog. I come across thinking it, because I feel like we are living in this messy pot of Laksa.             I don’t know what the heck I want to write. I had my writing block that   I literally struggle myself in writing this exact post during these few days . I made a mess from juggling my job sea...

Mental Health 0.2: You are not a SAVIOR!

Helping vs Caring Do you really try to help in a good intention or something else?      When your loved ones are suffering or facing some problems, are you eager to help out by voicing out your solutions, your recommendations to do this and do that? You will be so contented and happy when they accept your methods, even if they actually did not really ask for it and haven’t completed what they wanna tell ya.  Yeah, you got that right! You maybe have some savior complex going on in you.      Savior complex , or called as white knight syndrome , is the time that you put your disgusting gross finger into other people’s businesses and think that you are saving their butt off. But, actually it is annoying to them because no one asks for them.      We literally live in a world surrounding of K-drama scenes broadcasting how the hero is saving the life of a depressed and financially draught girl from some traumatized moments. Why can'...

Mental Health 0.1: Are you an Impostor among Yourselves?

Disclaimer: This post is not related to the current trending game: Among Us, at all. (how I wish it is…). Okay. Back to the topic:           “Man, you don’t DESERVE all the applause!” “C’mon you are not even THERE yet!” Another voice comes in: “Nah, you just get LUCKY only! Do you really think this is good ENOUGH?”           Sometimes, all these voices come from people around you, but most of the time it comes from the voices within yourself. If you feel that way after managing to finish a task or achieve something, I guess you get a little bit of impostor syndrome.           Imposter syndrome means the lack of affirmation of yourself after able to achieve something or complete a work by proven facts. You view your own success as being someone’s work. You view yourself of being lucky to be able to get a new job. You do not validate your o...

Random Rant: Am I a CryBaby

I had cried for more than 3 times, if I'm not wrong, for this single week. It doesn't necessarily mean the big devastating, sky-wrecking cries; it can include the tears dropping or tears swiveling around the eyes. It's okay 😢            This week should be a happy week for me since my birthday fell under this week. But unexpectedly (or, expectedly, for someone that knows me well), I had dropped my tears for multiple times. Of course, there were reasons behind. It's not like I cried for no reason.            I found out that I was quite (or, maybe REALLY) emotional person. If you have seen my emotional side, it does not mean anything. It is just simply that I am easily touched by A LOT of things and incidents.           People may call me 'oversensitive', 'overreact' or a 'CryBaby'. It may sound like an insult to anyone, but not me. At least, I wouldn't feel shameful to admit. 'Yes...

Do you get the right Google?

I have been following MarkManson ’s articles for quite awhile that his post for every Monday is a downright inspirational wake-up call. Not the normal read-it-and-forget inspiration. It’s the kick-your-ass inspiration. You might think I am exaggerating but he can discuss something as simple as philosophy but comes out to be a remarkable discover that yet to be talked widely about even though the answer is obviously there. On. The. Table.            It lets me think about how people nowadays consume the same information, same news, yet could give out different opinions viewing the same issue.           Let’s talk about the most current nerve-wrecking hot topic – COVID19. Could you imagine seeing how real this pandemic is, there are still people in this world not believing this is a REAL STUFF adversely affecting the entire populations. People are still going out and have fun without...

Not everything is INSTANT Noodle

To me, patience was seriously my kryptonite. I had zero tolerance about waiting anything or anyone. I just had that indescribable rage coming out when someone was late for meetings or hangouts without telling the reason in advance. I was horrible at being patient back then.            But kids taught me otherwise. When I joined a club in university that required me to teach the secondary students about entrepreneurship, it was downright challenging my tolerance level and my patience-drawn-out-line. Kids were horrible in listening instruction. They were so uncontrollable that it drove me crazy and insane.           When I was starting to lose it and decided to turn to my friends for help, I could see how different my friends approached them with care and gentle that I definitely lacked of. The students were able to understand my friends and had great connections with them. That was the point that I knew I got to do some...

What's scarier than you do the same thing over and over but you are still doing it

If you are born and raised from an Asian family, I am sure that 99.8% of you had been forced to attend some sorts of extra classes or advancement courses to “improve” ourselves while we were young (0.02% were probably crying their eyeballs out to get their getaway card). There is a Malay saying: “ Melentur buluh biarlah dari rebungnya .”, which means that learning in a tender younger age is the best way to cultivate and nourish skills! It’s especially applicable for Asian’s KIASU personality or more specifically Chinese people???           I was definitely not excluded. I was sent to swimming lesson for my mom stating that drowning was very possible in this world covered of around 71% water. Hence, my mom sent every one of us siblings to learn swimming in a very early ages. Other than that, art class and taekwondo class since I was in primary school were attended too.           Truthfully, I am not here to ...
