What I learnt from the Ceiling Fan in my room

When we are lost or start to feel hopeless and clueless, we will grab everything we see and hold on to it dearly. We will have this tendency to drive deeper into "the zone" to get us more into the "mood". When we are sad, we listen to sad song. When we are depressed, we watch tear-jerking movies. As if our inside world is not dark enough, we are just so attracted to ruin ourselves more. It drives us deeper to our shit and not wanting to find back the way out to the real world.               This notion hit me especially hard when I drove myself crazy with my mumbled thoughts lately. I was having insomnia the other night. I couldn’t sleep and might I tell you that I am a privileged kid that usually do not have problem of sleeping like a pig. So this was like a new-found field that I found myself so difficult to adjust to. I couldn’t sleep because all the bad shit that I could possibly think of started to squeeze up and consum...

Mental Health 0.1: Are you an Impostor among Yourselves?

Disclaimer: This post is not related to the current trending game: Among Us, at all. (how I wish it is…). Okay. Back to the topic:           “Man, you don’t DESERVE all the applause!” “C’mon you are not even THERE yet!” Another voice comes in: “Nah, you just get LUCKY only! Do you really think this is good ENOUGH?”           Sometimes, all these voices come from people around you, but most of the time it comes from the voices within yourself. If you feel that way after managing to finish a task or achieve something, I guess you get a little bit of impostor syndrome.           Imposter syndrome means the lack of affirmation of yourself after able to achieve something or complete a work by proven facts. You view your own success as being someone’s work. You view yourself of being lucky to be able to get a new job. You do not validate your o...

Fake it really can make it when you are...

Fake it really can make it when you are human being with perseverance, passion and pen to jot down what I am going to tell to inspire you. 😏 Okay, here's the point. If you really think I have some magic to help you fake your life through and through, then you must be first time knowing me - because of how BS a person I am.      Fake it can definitely make it. But the problem is how long you are going to stay 'there' even you know your soul is not really 'there'.       Passion is not easy. Gary Vaynerchuk , Chairman of VaynerX/CEO of Vayner Media/5-times-Best-Selling-Author, once said: "Skill is cheap. Passion is priceless." If everyone CAN become doctor, this world wouldn't be having so many public demonstration about working more than 36 hours but paid with unreasonable low salary. If everyone WANTS to become stewardess, there would be 100% unemployment rate shot up during this pandemic era. No excuse. Just res...

Do you get the right Google?

I have been following MarkManson ’s articles for quite awhile that his post for every Monday is a downright inspirational wake-up call. Not the normal read-it-and-forget inspiration. It’s the kick-your-ass inspiration. You might think I am exaggerating but he can discuss something as simple as philosophy but comes out to be a remarkable discover that yet to be talked widely about even though the answer is obviously there. On. The. Table.            It lets me think about how people nowadays consume the same information, same news, yet could give out different opinions viewing the same issue.           Let’s talk about the most current nerve-wrecking hot topic – COVID19. Could you imagine seeing how real this pandemic is, there are still people in this world not believing this is a REAL STUFF adversely affecting the entire populations. People are still going out and have fun without...

Not everything is INSTANT Noodle

To me, patience was seriously my kryptonite. I had zero tolerance about waiting anything or anyone. I just had that indescribable rage coming out when someone was late for meetings or hangouts without telling the reason in advance. I was horrible at being patient back then.            But kids taught me otherwise. When I joined a club in university that required me to teach the secondary students about entrepreneurship, it was downright challenging my tolerance level and my patience-drawn-out-line. Kids were horrible in listening instruction. They were so uncontrollable that it drove me crazy and insane.           When I was starting to lose it and decided to turn to my friends for help, I could see how different my friends approached them with care and gentle that I definitely lacked of. The students were able to understand my friends and had great connections with them. That was the point that I knew I got to do some...

What's scarier than you do the same thing over and over but you are still doing it

If you are born and raised from an Asian family, I am sure that 99.8% of you had been forced to attend some sorts of extra classes or advancement courses to “improve” ourselves while we were young (0.02% were probably crying their eyeballs out to get their getaway card). There is a Malay saying: “ Melentur buluh biarlah dari rebungnya .”, which means that learning in a tender younger age is the best way to cultivate and nourish skills! It’s especially applicable for Asian’s KIASU personality or more specifically Chinese people???           I was definitely not excluded. I was sent to swimming lesson for my mom stating that drowning was very possible in this world covered of around 71% water. Hence, my mom sent every one of us siblings to learn swimming in a very early ages. Other than that, art class and taekwondo class since I was in primary school were attended too.           Truthfully, I am not here to ...

Don't let stupid moments kill your kindness

Being a perfectionist Virgo ♍ ︎ can be difficult in life when you face those dumbheads that always can’t do their jobs right (in my case, assignments and team projects) and all you can do is just to help them to wipe their ass, fixing their problems. How could you deal with that? Nonetheless, the way you approach to help them is very important to let them know that they could be better next time and learn how to view it as a lesson themselves, by doing it nicely instead of blatantly pushing them without boundaries .           Instead of hitting around the bushes - or cars since greenery rarely seen in urbanized cities anymore, then just boom and crash with light and care ;)  Talk directly in a nice and kindly way to them. Let them know how serious or sever the issue is if they do not complete the task by certain time periods. Approach to provide assistance or aids to them even when they do not ask for it. Key note: do it with kindness ...

Enjoy life like a KID; Suck it like an ADULT

Recently, I had been watching a Cantonese Hong Kong drama about the girl having multiple personality disorder, which means she has different characters playing out in her life without her knowledge and awareness. One second, the crazy one will come out and ruin her normal life ; suddenly, another second one will be naively following some strangers into danger. The ‘main personality’ could not control her other ‘side personalities’ inside her body. Childish or Mature? Left or Right? Positive or Negative?            It had me thinking a lot how I talked in my previous post how people could be perceived as an extrovert and introvert at the same time, even with the same person looking on the same characteristics. This could downright display the notion that in fact every single one of us has different way of dealing something, depending on the situation faced in front of us.           In th...

I love WORKOUT! Perception changes me! All about the IQ

Recently, I have come across an article about how mental exercise is as much important as physical exercise. It can give you an out-of-the-world satisfaction. There are 13 ways briefly mentioned in the article to practice the mental strength that I have found some of them reciprocates the same with me surprisingly : love a good challenge , focus on what is in control , venture out of comfort zone, have true confidence, embrace change , no fear no regret, and crave for feedback and criticism.        It is always mindset over anything. You believe something and then your subconscious will be more willingly to do that something, instead of carrying that notion without any action. People surrounding me always perceive me as a very confident person and I have a smarties-ass look on my face. My English can be viewed as quite good by my friends and my family, but people do not realize what I have done behind the ‘success’ of it. Actually, I take a lot of efforts for 10...

With Truth, Trust´n Communicate

TRUTH I have always wondered why it is so hard that people couldn’t speak the truth. Why we have to hide behind a shield and hold a sword, possibly attacking a wrong person without any notion we set the right path against the right target, or not. We might miss the good thing happening to us just because we have lied too much that we ourselves become lie , undoubtedly. No truth, where got trust ??? There are researches showing why people tend to lie. To avoid embarrassment, to maintain privacy and all the others, but we need the fact to give us a wake-up call. People are actually not as vulnerable and fragile as you think. They could mostly accept the harsh truth more resiliently and openly. The crucial point is that how you are going to tell the truth that comes into account. If you don’t want to tell, for the sake of your friends or your own, then just tell the other party truthfully that you are not comfortable to disc...

Your Priority is not His Priority

There are 2 baskets on the table. You could only choose the contents inside one of the baskets. You can´t have both. One contains 1,000,000,000 US dollars cheque. One contains a Ticket to anywhere you want in this world in unlimited times. Which one would you choose ? It’s a 50/50 choices. Some would choose the million dollars, or some would choose the freedom to go anywhere (especially in this critically freedom-restricted timing). There’s nothing wrong choosing whichever because everyone has their own preference, hence priorities are different among each other.           Priorities are a ranking people tend to have or subconsciously decide on when facing a dilemma between both options that inevitably can’t be enjoyed together. When you have a different goal than your aspiring friend, you can’t be shameful to admit that you want to be a superhero but not an engineer that all your friends want to be. You just have different priorities. ...
